The Vacuum tube collectors AP of the Apricus Solar Company

The AP Vacuum tube collector
The vacuum collector is an advanced, top product of the solar technique. It is up to 30% more efficient than a flat collector with the same area of absorption, especially in spring, autumn and winter.

It issues from the ability of vacuum collector to absorb the dispersed radiation of sun and from radically restricted loses of heat thank to the vacuum in the collector tubes. The collector tube consists of two parts which are connected at their tops and ends. Between these two parts, there is a vacuum.
The absorption layer in vacuum collectors in most cases has a form of narrow strip with the copper pipe soldered to it. This strip with the copper pipe goes and along the vacuum tube. Some of the manufactures apply the method of covering the outer surface of inner tube with the absorption layer.

The vacuum
POWIĘKSZ Kondensator         The heating of liquid in vacuum tube collectors may work in two ways:
- By a direct flow through a copper pipe, which consist of two channels and soldered to absorber,
- By one copper channel, filled with easily vaporizing liquid and called the "heat pipe". The end of pipe is finished with condenser which gives up the heat to the liquid in the manifold. The end of pipe is finished with condenser which gives up the heat to the liquid in the manifold.
The vacuum tubes are connected together in manifold bar, which also is isolated thermally
The heat pipe system operates using alcohol mixer which boiling temperature amounts 30 °C. When the liquid reaches its boiling temperature, starts rising to the end of pipe transferring heat. As the heat is lost at the condenser (top), the vapour condenses to form a liquid and returns to the bottom of the heat pipe to once again repeat the process. The condenser gives up the heat to the liquid in the manifold. Subsequently, the liquid heated by condenser is pumped to heat exchanger located inside the water tank.
